A total of 6 Bangladeshis have died in January 2019 after being shot or tortured by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF). ASK expresses grave condemnation and concern over these incidents.
According to information from various media sources, in the month of January alone, a total of six Bangladeshis, 4 in Thakurgaon and 1 each in Nilphamari and Rajshahi, died in the hands of BSF. Such behavior by BSF despite repeated pledges of Indian Government to end border killings and torture is absolutely not acceptable.
ASK urges the Government of Bangladesh to take urgent and strong diplomatic measures along with the Indian authority to stop such incidents of killings and torture.
