The session also covered several core components of the project, including opening remarks for the annual orientation, a review of first-year plans versus progress and an overview of second-year activities. In addition, detailed discussions were held on mediation mechanisms, investigation processes, litigation strategies, communication and branding approaches.
Through this coordination meeting, ASK reinforced its commitment to improving programme coherence, accountability and impact.
ASK is implementing the EngageNow project under the “Nagorikota: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF)” programme with support from the Embassy of Switzerland, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and European Union (EU).

On the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2026, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) organised a colourful rally, quiz competition and human chain in the Mohammadpur working area with members of the children’s and youth groups under the Speak-Up project. Representatives of social organisations, teachers and parents also participated in the programme.
Under the same project, ASK organised another human chain in Gazipur. The programme took place on Azimuddin College Road where representatives from various social organisations, teachers, students and youth actively participated.
Speakers at the events emphasised the importance of ensuring women’s rights, dignity and safety in society. They highlighted the need for collective efforts from all sectors to prevent violence and discrimination against women both online and offline and to raise awareness about women’s rights and protection.
ASK is implementing these programmes with the support of the European Union and technical assistance from Terre des Hommes Netherlands.

Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), together with its six local partner organisations, organised a series of campaigns, rallies, discussion meetings and human chains under the EngageNow project to mark International Women’s Day. These programmes were held across Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Satkhira, Barisal, Habiganj and Tangail districts. Representatives from government and non-government organisations, members of social organisations and the general public actively participated in these field-level events. Throughout the campaign, participants displayed awareness-raising slogans and banners highlighting women’s rights, equality, empowerment and the prevention of violence against women. During the discussion meetings, speakers emphasised the need for collective efforts to establish women’s rights, ensure gender equality and prevent violence against women. These initiatives are being implemented under the Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) programme, with support from the Embassy of Switzerland and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and the European Union (EU).

On 10 December, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) organised a rally and human chain in Dhaka under the theme “Human Rights: Our Everyday Essentials”. Following this theme, ASK put forward 15 key demands. These included ending extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and torture in custody; stopping illegal arrests; ending false cases; ensuring freedom of peaceful assembly and expression; ensuring professional and accountable conduct of law enforcement agencies; implementing equal rights for women; ensuring the security of religious minorities; safeguarding freedom of arts and culture; ensuring justice for mob violence; transparent reconstitution of the Human Rights Commission and Information Commission; implementation of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Accord; forming an independent, impartial and effective Election Commission; inclusion of experienced non-governmental organisations in election observation; protection of migrant workers; and ensuring the unhindered functioning of human rights organisations. Speakers at the programme called for the immediate adoption of effective measures to establish human rights and ensure the rule of law in the country.

On 17 November 2025, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), in collaboration with Terre des Hommes- Netherlands, organised a dialogue under the SUFASEC project to discuss the need for a Code of Conduct to prevent online sexual exploitation of children. The session brought together representatives from BTRC, the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) and civil society. 42 participants participated in this meeting among them 28 male and 14 female. During the dialogue, speakers noted that as children now have access to mobile phones, they face various online risks even within their homes. The discussion highlighted the importance of increasing parental awareness, providing online safety education and seeking assistance from law enforcement agencies in unsafe situations.
