Prominent attendees included Advocate Rokhsana Khondker, Treasurer, ASK; Mubrook Mohammed, Advisor, ASK; Nargis Sultana, Program Officer, Department of Women and Children Affairs; representatives from BRAC Social Compliance; members of various civil society organizations, and media representatives. During the meeting, the research findings were shared, followed by discussions where participants expressed their views on the widespread prevalence of SH and GBV. They also highlighted specific areas that require further research and interventions for future advocacy efforts.

Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) organized a discussion meeting on the need for legislation to prevent and ensure remedies for sexual harassment and policy changes in this regard on January 9, 2025, at CIRDAP Auditorium. The chairperson of ASK and the senior lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Advocate Z. I. Khan, gave a welcome speech at the meeting. ASK Senior Coordinator Abu Ahmed Faizul Kabir moderated the meeting. A total of 45 participants attended the meeting. The Project Coordinator gave a keynote presentation on the ongoing picture of Sexual Harassment and Gender-based Violence and the current status of relevant legislation to prevent sexual harassment and gender-based violence.

Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) organized a discussion meeting on “Cyber-based sexual harassment and gender-based violence remediation” with the Cyber Crime Unit of the DB Police Office on 17 December 2024 under the ASK-BRAC collaboration and European Union-funded project, – , – (Agnee Project). The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of DB Cyber and Special Crime Division Mr. Mohiuddin Mahmud, ADC Mr. Mohammad Rakib Khan, 27 police officers from different levels of the concerned department, and Advocate Fatema Rashid Hasan, Secretary General, ASK, Asma Khanom Ruba, Project Coordinator, AGNEE Project and other staffs from the Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) had participated in the meeting. The meeting discussed the importance of sharing experiences on cyber-based sexual harassment, identifying challenges to prevent and remedy it, and developing integrated solutions.

Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) organized a three-day exposure visit from 24-26 September 2024 at Rajshahi. The initiative aimed to support and empower CSOs in fostering a safer environment for women in workplaces, public transportation, and digital spaces through various strategies. To enhance the project’s sustainability, CSO members from Gazipur district applied the insights gained from the visit and collaborative sessions with CSO representatives in Rajshahi under the AGNEE Project. This effort will help extend project activities beyond its official conclusion.

To address violence against women, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), in partnership with BRAC and the European Union, is implementing the AGNEE Project. The project aims to eliminate gender-based violence and provide various services and support to victim women. As part of the project’s awareness-raising activities, yard meetings were held on 9 September 2024 at Bagha Upazila in Rajshahi District and on 12 September 2024 at Maona, Sreepur Upazila in Gazipur District. CSO members and local community members participated, raising awareness on the prevention and redressal of gender-based violence and sexual harassment.

On 24 December 2023, AGNEE(Awareness, Action and Advocacy for Gender- Equal and Safe Spaces for Women and Girls) Project of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) organized a meeting with 10 high officials of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. It was presided by Md Najmul Islam, Deputy Police Commissioner (Cyber Security and Crime Division, Counter Terrorism Unit, DMP). The objective of the meeting was to gather advice from experienced CTTC officials on reducing cyber-based violence and harassment towards women and girls, and to update a guideline for preventing cyber-based harassment.

Follow up Meeting with the CSOs on Service Mapping, referral linkage, policy advocacy, etc.

The AGNEE(Awareness, Action and Advocacy for Gender- Equal and Safe Spaces for Women and Girls) Project of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) organized a follow-up meeting on service mapping, referral linkage, and policy advocacy with selected Civil Society Organization (CSO) members from nine Upazilas of Rajshahi District in Rajshahi on 27 November 2023 and with 24 CSO members from Gazipur in Gazipur on 02 December 2023.

Follow-up Training on Prevention, Protection and Referral Services with CSO Representatives and Development of Action Plan.
Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) organised two-day follow-up training sessions on prevention, protection, and referral services with CSO members as part of the AGNEE Project. One was held in Rajshahi on 11-14 December 2023, and the other was held in Gazipur on 30 November and 01 December 2023. The training aimed to provide CSO members with a refreshed understanding of services available to assist victims of gender-based violence, identify obstacles in fieldwork and gain skills to raise awareness of those at risk.
