Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar police arrested seventh grader student Tawsiful Karim Rafi in an arms related case after not finding his father. Rafi was arrested and subsequently charged on 26th November, 2024, under the The Arms Act, 1878. Later he was sent to jail. Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) filed a writ petition in the High Court Division of Bangladesh on this incident on 4th December, 2024. The next day the High Court Division heard the writ and granted bail to Rafi. Since its inception, ASK has been fighting against torture by State. ASK regularly conducts fact-finding missions, legal intervention and advocacy for victims of human rights violation. Apart from these, ASK provides support to the victims of torture. In December 2024, ASK provided medical support to 17 and educational support to 22 victims of torture.
