A two-day Conference, named School Theatre Group (STG) was held on 4-5 September, 2018 at Ganshastha PHA Convention Centre, Savar, Dhaka. Around 100 people from schools of five different districts participated in the Conference. We encouraged the participation of the secondary level students, guide teachers and respective head teachers in the program. A number of different sessions were conducted in the two days on various thematic issues, such as Human rights, Gender, Drama production, life skills and leadership.<\/p>\n

    The issue that was widely discussed during the program was on the topic of Gender, which was conducted by Sheepa Hafiza, Executive Director, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) where the various gender issues and misconceptions of such issues within the society were briefly discussed. The discussion was quite helpful to the participants as it made them aware of the current situation of Gender rights in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n

    On the second day of the conference, twenty magazines made by the students were displayed on the wall as part of the Wall Magazine Festival, 2018. Shameem Akhtar, Film maker and Media Activist, was present as a Judge of the Magazine Festival among many others. An Award Ceremony was arranged where, based on the Judges\u2019 recommendation, three schools were rewarded for the Best Magazine Production.<\/p>\n

    The two days Conference ended with a colorful cultural event where all the students and teachers participated. STG Conference is a platform where the participants get the open space to express themselves, their creativity, ideology and views regarding human rights, its violations and their stand on such issues. It is an attempt made by us every year and we try to arrange it on a regular basis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
