Human Rights Forum Bangladesh (HRFB) expresses serious condemnation against such an inhuman incident. At the same time, it demands exemplary action to be taken against those involved in this incident.<\/p>\n<p>According to news media reports, the abovementioned healthcare worker is a doctor\u2019s attendant in Impulse Hospital, Dhaka. Due to the Coronavirus crisis, she went to her home in the village on 21 April. After she arrived at her home, she was put into isolation in a makeshift hut made of palm leaves in a remote area near the pond as per the order of the organising Secretary of Awami League of Sadullahpur Union. Criticisms sparked when it became viral in social media. On the other side, the Awami League leader of the area claimed that she was kept there by the decision of the villagers. On 27 April 2020, Kotalipara police rescued the healthcare worker from there and took her home.<\/p>\n<p>HRFB strongly protests against such cruelty. Many news portals reported that in different parts of the country Corona affected or suspected people are becoming victims of people\u2019s insolent treatment. It is essential to take immediate effective steps against those involved in order to prevent the repetition of such incidents. Along with this, it is necessary to increase awareness among people on such issues. Besides, a number of doctors and healthcare workers are being affected while fighting against the Coronavirus. There have been complaints that there is a lack of proper protective equipment for them, and the necessary treatment could not be arranged for those affected. It is extremely necessary to ensure proper safety equipment for these frontline fighters and also arrange proper treatment for those affected.
