The remarks by State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Md. Murad Hasan about the daughter of BNP Acting Chairperson Tareq Rahman and Dr. Zobaida Rahman are extremely indecent and highly offensive towards women. Such a statement by a person sitting in a responsible position of the government is completely unacceptable and reflects his hatred towards women. Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) strongly condemns his statement. At the same time, ASK thinks that Dr. Murad Hasan should immediately withdraw his statement and apologise afterwards.<\/p>\n
Even before this, many political parties have attacked the opposition with vicious statements out of vengeance. However, Murad Hasan's statement about a woman who is not directly involved in politics has exceeded all etiquettes. Dr. Murad Hasan is in charge of an important Ministry. If he himself possesses such mentality and uses such language against women, then it raises doubts about how he is working to protect the constitutional and the universally guaranteed rights of women and people of the country. In fact, these statements call into question the government's efforts to empower women and protect their rights.<\/p>\n
Dr. Murad Hassan should keep in mind that he has taken an oath of allegiance to the people before being appointed to a responsible position by the government. It is evident from his statement that he has broken his oath. In this case, there is an opportunity for those who are in charge of running the government, to take necessary steps against Dr. Murad for making such unethical remarks. ASK hopes the government will take action in this regard.<\/p>\n
