Some stalkers stabbed a teenage girl named Shapla to death for refusing to reciprocate to his proposal for love at Dakshinkhan of the capital. Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) expresses grave concern and seriously condemns the incident.<\/p>\n
According to the newspaper sources, on November 30, 2011 at about 9.30 pm a group of stalkers stopped Shapla in front of Taj Clinic and started teasing as she was returning home after her work at the garments factory. It is also reported that at one stage of teasing the stalkers stabbed Shapla. It needs to be mentioned that although Shapla had lodged a complaint against the stalkers with the local police station the police did not take any action.<\/p>\n
It is a matter of grave concern that recently such activities of the stalkers have increased to such a horrible phase that the statistics, prepared from the daily news reports shows up to November 2011 this year, 23 died as a result of eve teasing.<\/p>\n
We believe that Shapla did not have to give her life this way, had the administration have taken prompt action in this regard. We urge the government to take effective measures in order to uphold justice by punishing the stalkers so that this type of offence does not happen in greater number.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
