Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) expresses grave concern and condemn the incident of beating of four students by three retired army officers and a sergeant at Baridhara DOHS Park on the allegation of walking in a wrong direction.<\/p>\n
Different newspapers reported that three retired army officers and a sergeant tied up with rope and beaten four A-Level students of Scholastica School & College, namely Mushfiqur Rahman, Tasbir Islam, Prithu Amin and Fahad Hossain, in the evening of October 6, 2011, Thursday, on the allegation of walking in a wrong direction. It is also reported that the retired army officers did not stop beating after the students had confessed their fault and apologized for not knowing the rules. On the next day of the incident, one of the alleged persons was removed from his position of the administrative chief of the DOHS in an arbitration held in the DOHS Council Office. We believe that every citizen of this country has freedom of movement. In that case, if the four students had committed any offence then they could be tried under the existing laws of the country. But instead of taking resort to that they had been beaten lawlessly, for which, we expresses our grave concern and condemn the incident.<\/p>\n
We urge the concerned authority to consider the matter seriously and to take legal steps against the accused persons subject to investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
