It occurred as a reaction of the previous violence that had erupted on 19 and 20 February at Baghaichhori of Rangamati between the Indigenous people and the Bangalee settlers.<\/p>\n<p>We came to know from different sources that at least 15 people including journalists were injured during the violence that erupted on Tuesday between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. Houses, mostly of Indigenous people were torched. After the clash, section 144 was declared at Khagrachhari district town.<\/p>\n<p>We urge both communities, the Indigenous people and Bangalees to show utmost tolerance and patience. We also urge the Government to consider the present situation of Chittagong Hill Tracts with top most priority and to take immediate measures. We demand that the trust in reciprocal relationship between the Indigenous people and the Bangalee settlers be restored through ensuring impartiality of law enforcement agencies including the army and to take immediate legal actions finding out the persons involved in killings, plundering and torching houses in this violence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) expresses concern Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) expresses grave concern over the violence that took place at Khagrachhari district town on 23 February, 2010.
