{"id":4746,"date":"2010-02-15T08:39:58","date_gmt":"2010-02-15T08:39:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/?p=4746"},"modified":"2015-06-14T08:40:37","modified_gmt":"2015-06-14T08:40:37","slug":"assault-journalists-different-places-country","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/2010\/02\/15\/assault-journalists-different-places-country\/","title":{"rendered":"Assault on journalists at different places of the country"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Concern of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) is gravely concerned and condemns Chhatra League\u2019s attack on journalists at Kustia Government College while they were trying to collect news on the messing up of honours\u2019 first year admission viva voce.<\/p>\n<p>It is observed that, recently journalists are frequently made to confront this sort of attack at different places of the country. Before the incident of Kustia, journalists were attacked at Rajshahi University and Chittagong. Even the Pabna Press Club and a journalist\u2019s house at Jhinaidah have been attacked.<\/p>\n<p>We believe, this kind of assault on journalists is a great threat to \u2018freedom of expression\u2019 which is one of the constitutionally guaranteed fundamental right. This kind of intolerance from the ruling party or its affiliates hinders the democratic environment.<\/p>\n<p>However, the decision to expel the Chhatra League members in connection with Rajshahi University violence has been taken.
