{"id":5495,"date":"2012-06-13T09:48:43","date_gmt":"2012-06-13T09:48:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/?p=5495"},"modified":"2015-08-02T10:06:53","modified_gmt":"2015-08-02T10:06:53","slug":"case-mrs-lila-benapole-june-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/2012\/06\/13\/case-mrs-lila-benapole-june-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Case for Mrs Lila &#8211; Benapole | June 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1Vu2UZ72lLc?rel=0\" height=\"315\" width=\"420\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u00a0Video Source: Local Journalist<\/p>\n<h2>Background:<\/h2>\n<p>According to Mrs Lila, Hashem Ali had taken a loan of 20,000 BDT from her at the UP Election in May 2011.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 A year later Mrs Lila indicated she wanted the money returned.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 Hashem Ali and some young people started to disturb her.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 Mrs Lila\u2019s husband expressed Lila&#8217;s distress to the perpetrators.<\/p>\n<h2>13 June 2012 : Day of Incident<\/h2>\n<p>10 am four relatives came to visit Lila\u2019s house (2 men and 2 women).<br \/>\nHashem Ali and 7-8 youths came to Lila\u2019s house and accused them of committing illegal activities in her home.<br \/>\nThey asked for a payment of 50,000 BDT or they threatened to accuse her of a rape case.<\/p>\n<p>When Lila denied payment, the youths forced Lila and her relatives out of her house and tied her to a tree. Her hair was cut, she was beaten several times, including with a shoe, engine oil was poured over her<br \/>\nhead, face and body.<\/p>\n<p>Her relatives were also being beaten at the same time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Lila.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5496\" alt=\"Case for Mrs Lila - Benapole\" src=\"http:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Lila.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Lila.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Lila-160x120.jpg 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>After Lila was beaten senseless, the men washed her body to the UP complex where they took her finger print for a bond.<\/p>\n<p>Lila\u2019s husband, Md X had been informed of her location.
