12 June 2013,<\/strong> is the World Day against Child Labour 2013. This year the theme of the day is \u201cno to child labour in domestic work\u201d.<\/p>\n

The International Labour Organization (ILO) launched the first World Day Against Child Labour in 2002. From then the day is observed to serve as a catalyst for the growing worldwide movement against child labour.<\/p>\n

In Bangladesh, various Organizations are observing the day by different activities. \u201cShapla Neer\u201d, a citizens\u2019 committee in Japan for overseas support have been working in Bangladesh since 1972 for the socio economic development of the underprivileged people of Bangladesh, organized a rally on today morning to observe the day. As an associate organization, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) also participated in the rally. The theme of the rally is \u201cI am a girl child domestic worker, give me books not broom\u201d.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Child Rights Unit of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) is organizing a child-friendly discussion in the drop-in centers on the National Child Labour Elimination Policy. The children will present their thinking on this issue by participating in drawing and cultural programs.<\/p>\n
