Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) expresses its grave concern and condemnation over the incident of the killing of two Bangladeshi citizens by the BSF, the Border Security Force of India, and also urges to the concerned authorities to strengthen their diplomatic efforts to stop such killings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to media reports, two Bangladeshi cattle traders were killed by the BSF at Putkhali Border of Benapole, Jessore on 11 June 2013. It has also been reported that the BSF fired on the cattle traders due to the dispute over seizure of cattle and two Bangladeshi cattle traders were killed as a result. It should be mentioned here that the BSF has been continuously engaged in such killings violating the International laws .Although the Indian authority has repeatedly assured that the BSF will be sensible and cautious in using lethal arms in the border and if necessary, will use only rubber bullets, no reflection of their promise has been observed in reality.<\/b><\/p>\n

We expect that the concerned authority will take a strong stance to stop such killings of Bangladeshi citizens in the borders and will put diplomatic pressures on the Indian authorities to take effective steps in this regard. [See Below for Bengali Statement]<\/b>
