{"id":8467,"date":"2017-03-30T17:52:01","date_gmt":"2017-03-30T17:52:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/?p=8467"},"modified":"2017-04-03T18:28:27","modified_gmt":"2017-04-03T18:28:27","slug":"press-release-sheepa-hafiza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/2017\/03\/30\/press-release-sheepa-hafiza\/","title":{"rendered":"Press Release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sheepa Hafiza, a renowned human rights activist will join Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) as an Executive Director from 1st April 2017.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/sheepa_hafiza.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-8472\" src=\"http:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/sheepa_hafiza.jpg\" alt=\"Sheepa Hafiza\" width=\"78\" height=\"105\" \/><\/a>Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), a national legal aid and human rights organization, provides legal and social support to the disempowered, particularly women, children and workers. Since its inception in 1986, the organization is working to create a society based on equality, social and gender justice and rule of law. It seeks to create an environment for accountability and transparency of governance institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Sheepa Hafiza is a seasoned executive widely recognized for her expertise in areas including policy advocacy for extreme poverty reduction; program development; organizational change management; capacity strengthening; rights advocate for gender justice, migrant labor rights and ending child marriage.<\/p>\n<p>She has received several awards including the Communication for Sustainable Social Change Award from the University of Massachusetts, USA, to honor her work on migrant\u2019s labor rights, and the Best Practice Award for Gender Norm Change.
