He has been working at the mosque for the last two years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Imam_Hacked_Inside_Mosque.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8615\" src=\"http:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Imam_Hacked_Inside_Mosque-300x275.jpg\" alt=\"Ahmadiyya Mosque Imam Hacked Inside the Mosque\" width=\"300\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Imam_Hacked_Inside_Mosque-300x275.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Imam_Hacked_Inside_Mosque-327x300.jpg 327w, https:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Imam_Hacked_Inside_Mosque-600x550.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.askbd.org\/ask\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Imam_Hacked_Inside_Mosque.jpg 990w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>As per the information received from different news media and ASK\u2019s own source, Imam Mostafizur Rahman along with others were taking preparation of Eshaa Prayer. Meanwhile, the miscreants entered into the mosque in the guise of normal Musulli and suddenly attacked him with sharp weapon. Hearing him screaming, people rushed to the spot, caught one of the attackers and beat him up before handing him over to police. The imam was first taken to the Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Mymensingh Medical College as his condition deteriorated.\u00a0He was later shifted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition around 5am on 09 May 2017.<\/p>\n<p>It is here mentionable that, the freedom of religion is regarded as one of the basic human rights in any civilized society. Consisting with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights declaring that everyone has the right to freedom of religion, Constitution of Bangladesh in its article 28 also ensures that the state will not do any discrimination on the basis of religion.<\/p>\n<p>Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) is deeply concerned over the attack on Imam Mostafizur Rahman. ASK considers that these types of attacks on particular religious groups is very serious. The increasing rate of such crimes has already created tension and insecurity among people.
