The 14th session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) took place at UN Headquarters in New York from 20 April-1 May 2015.
On 30 April 2015, Meghna Guhathakurta on behalf of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK),CHTC, International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA), Shimin Gaikou Centre, Sami Parliament of Sweden, Sami Parliament of Norway, Saami Council and Inuit Circumpolar Council, Greenland submitted a statement about the human rights situation of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh under Agenda Item 7: Human Rights: ( a) Implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous peoples (with specific focus on economic, social and cultural rights).
