In Jamalpur District, a man has been sentenced with imprisonment for life for brutally raping and impregnating his own adolescent daughter.

Salma (not her real name) aged about 12 years was brutally raped and impregnated by her own father. Few days back, her mother went to her parent’s house for her delivery leaving Salma to her father. By this time, Salma’s father raped her at several times. When this occurrence was disclosed, Salma was pregnant for six months. In this situation, Salma and her mother seek help from Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK). ASK provided legal aid to the victims, ensured safe shelter for both of them and arranged safe delivery for Salma. ASK’s lawyers had been committed to make this case successful. Within a year, on March 27, 2018 Hon’ble court of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal declared the judgment and punished the convict with rigorous life imprisonment and fined him with ten thousand tk and in anticipation five more years of imprisonment.
