In addition, 8 victims of torture received medical assistance from ASK.

In August 2026, the High Court Division issued a rule asking the government to explain in four weeks why the alleged custodial death of Mirza Ishtiaq Ahmed Pranto should not be declared illegal and why his family should not be awarded Tk 5 crore as compensation. The court also asked why a judicial inquiry should not be ordered into Pranto’s death, allegedly caused by alleged torture while he was in the custody of Faridpur Sadar’ Detective Branch of Police on June 21.

A writ petition was filed by Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) in the public interest based on a New Age online report as of July 20 about alleged custodial death.
