To be a human rights defender is a big challenge; one must be aware of all the issues concerned and know how to report such problems and conduct a thorough fact finding in order to identify the root cause of the problem.
In line of such, on 05 September 2019, the Human Rights Defenders Forum, Bandarban organised an ‘Orientation for Local Human Rights Activists’ which was held at Chamber of Dr. Mong Usha Thowai, Madhyam Para Area, Bandarban. The event was supported by Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).
The orientation programme was presided by Dr. Moung Usha Thowai, Convener, Human Rights Defenders Forum (HRDF), Bandarban. From Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), Anirban Saha, Senior Investigator, Fahmeda Zaman, Sr. Documentalist and Faria Iffat Mim, Investigator, were present at the program.
The participants engaged actively during the orientation programme by being involved in the discussions on the importance of HRDF for the protection and promotion of human rights at grassroots level along with the different ways of improving report writing skills, problems faced during fact finding, etc. Amongst others, Advocate Sarah Shudipa Yunus, Joint convener and Kewsa Moung, Member Secretary delivered their speeches at the event.
