Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) continues to support marginalized and underprivileged individuals through its Mediation Unit, focusing on alternative dispute resolution, legal counseling, and urgent interventions. In June 2025, a total of 181 individuals approached ASK for assistance. Of them, 7 cases were addressed through mediation and 37 were referred for litigation. Among the service recipients, 118 were women and 26 were men. ASK received 27 new complaints during the month and provided direct legal advice to 57 individuals at the ASK office. Additionally, 130 survivors received assistance through ASK’s helpline. The unit conducted 7 mediation sessions during this period. A total of 154 returning applicants sought continued support. Moreover, ASK undertook 10 rapid response actions to address urgent human rights concerns. As a result of successful mediation, BDT 636,100 (six lakh thirty-six thousand one hundred) was recovered in the form of dower, maintenance, and child support.
