During May 2026, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), through its Engage Now Project, continued to provide legal representation to victims and legal aid seekers before the courts. During the reporting period, court dates were scheduled for cases involving family disputes, violence against women and children, criminal offences and other legal matters. In these cases, ASK lawyers undertook necessary legal actions, including case filing, court appearances, hearings, follow-ups, witness examination, cross-examination and legal arguments to ensure effective representation and progress of the cases. During the month, 2 new cases were filed on behalf of victims. A total of 156 cases were handled, of which 144 were family cases, 10 involved violence against women and children and 2 were criminal cases. These activities were implemented under the EngageNow project, part of the Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) programme, with support from the Embassy of Switzerland and Global Affairs Canada (GAC).
