Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) strongly condemns and protests the utterance made by Mufti Fazlul Huq Amini, the Amir of Islami Ain Bastobayan Committee saying “there will be an increased number of illegitimate children in the country, if the women development policy is implemented.”

According to newspaper reports, he made the statement in a press briefing on March 28, 2011. The statement made by Mufti Amini deeply hearts  to the personality, dignity and rights of women and at the same time it will obstruct the implementation of the National Women Development Policy 2011, adopted to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women in all sectors.

We expect that by showing respect to the law, he will refrain from making such derogatory comments about women.
