It has long historical background being the place where the historic speech was made by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 7th of March, 1971, and where the surrender of the Pakistani army took place on 16th December 1971. |
| Court’s Response: | The Court passed an order of stay 9th March 2008 on the said lease till disposal of the case and also issued a rule nisi calling upon the respondents as to why the lease should not be declared without lawful authority and of no legal effect. |
