‘Salma laid the foundations of a comprehensive approach to resisting human rights violations and defending the claims of the most disadvantaged members of the society. ASK — Ain O Salish Kendra — with its intellectual power and practical commitment, remains a lasting monument to Salma’s vision and initiative.” – Amartya Sen, Salma Sobhan Memorial Lecture 2006
