With the aim to recapture the lost culture of wall magazine and amplify the extra-curricular activity of our young generation, 8^th National Deyal Patrika Festival and Competition 2015 started on 15 October 2015 at 3 p.m. at Sufia Kamal National Public Library with the motto “Mukto Prokash, Mukto Bikas”. The festival was jointly organised by Bangladesh Deyal Patrika Parishad and Ain o Salish Kendra. Prominent Rabindro Sangeet singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya inaugurated the festival.

She expressed that the wall magazine creates the habit of study, emotion, cultural feeling as well as endurance among people, specially young generation. At present, when technology is in lead, this type of festival will increase tolerance among people, also said by her. The Deyal Patrika festival is presided by Professor Serajul Islam Choudhury. He appreciated this type of initiative which expresses protest, dream, and creativity. He claimed that wall magazine wants to break peoples’ inner as well as outer wall. Because as day passes our big world has become smaller and in this small world our young generation is imprisoned. Sultana Kamal, Executive Director, Ain o Salish Kendra and General Ashish Kumar, Director, Sufia Kamal National Public Library were also present at this festival.

Around 160 wall magazines were displayed by the students from more than 100 schools of 33 districts in the festival. They wrote different types of stories, poems, essays, and draw arts on the basis of different topics specially focused on local culture, tradition, history, liberation war and recent affairs. Bangladesher Oithijjho O Etihash, Sopnoprodip, Kustiar Oitijjho, Ponero Sholo, Gallery, Cherapatar Iccheghuri, Desh O Tar Kotha, Kranti, Protibad, Attomogno, SammerChora, ManobotarArtonad were the name of some notable wall magazines from the festival.

These all magazines were written and also edited by the students. This wall magazine was ended on 18 October 2015 with an award giving ceremony. 10 best wall magazines were awarded. At the award giving ceremony, Mahfuz Anam, Editor, The Daily Star, Dr. Hameeda Hossain, Founder member, Ain o Salish Kendra and Professor Serajul Islam Choudhury, President, Bangladesh Deyal Patrika Parishad were present. The festival was the appearance of talent as well as creativity of young school students.
