In the month of language movement, the Gender Team of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) organised a Guest Lecture on 09 February 2020, at ASK Conference room on ‘Gender discrimination in language, the theory of relativity of language and necessity of guidelines for gender neutrality in the language of mass media’. The aim of the event was to have a better understating on how a language is not only an expression of thoughts but also an influencer of our thinking process.

This very interesting and thought-provoking topic was discussed with a lively presentation by the guest speaker, Mahmuda Akand, Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy, Jahangirnagar University.
The event was highly interactive with the proactive participation of about 40 participants from different organisations and educational institutions. The event was also graced by the panelists: Sheepa Hafiza, Executive Director, ASK; Nina Gowsami, Senior Deputy Director, ASK and Khaleda Khanom, Team Leader, ASTHA project, ASK.
