Workshop: Learning, Solidarity and Strategy from Chiang Mai

From 15- 22 January 2026, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), in partnership with DW Akademie, undertook an international exchange and strategic learning visit to Chiang Mai, Thailand under the Digital Spaces for Dialogue project. The visit served as a key moment for aligning ASK’s implementation approach with regional best practices and the project’s Logical Framework, particularly in relation to inclusive digital dialogue and cross-regional learning. Through workshops, partner consultations and field engagement with youth networks and displaced communities from Myanmar, the ASK delegation gained practical insights into trauma-informed digital engagement, hybrid participation models and the creative use of storytelling for peacebuilding. Technical exchanges with Digital Rights Asia and DW Akademie also strengthened ASK’s understanding of outcome-based reporting, financial compliance and FSTP implementation. The experience reinforced the importance of safe, youth-led and context-responsive digital spaces, while laying the groundwork for deeper regional collaboration. Lessons from Chiang Mai will directly inform the next phase of implementation in Bangladesh, including the upcoming Idea Lab and contribute to building more inclusive, resilient and peaceful digital dialogue platforms.
