Under the ‘Digital Spaces for Dialogue’ project, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) successfully organized its second ‘Idea Lab’ in Cox’s Bazar from June 18 to 22. The 5-day workshop was held at the PULSE Bangladesh hall room in Ukhiya, where 15 female students (8 local and 7 from Camp-4) participated.

The workshop was inaugurated by Tahmina Rahman, Executive Director of ASK. Habiba Jahan, the Upazila Women and Children Affairs Officer of Ukhiya, was present as a special guest. The sessions were facilitated by Anan Anjum and Saheda Yasmin Akhi, students from the Asian University for Women, Chattogram.

The core objective of this initiative was to promote social cohesion and peace between Rohingya and local youths by helping participants identify and develop their own innovative ideas. Following the unique approach of the ‘Idea Lab,’ there was no pre-set agenda. Instead, the facilitators conducted grooming sessions to help participants refine their ideas and plan for their effective implementation.

During the 5-day workshop, the participants expressed a strong commitment to preventing violence against women and highlighted the importance of women’s education. They have decided to launch various initiatives within their own communities. As per the project guidelines, they have initially designed a 3-month action plan (July to September 2026). If successful, this project will continue for up to 15 months through two extensions. The 15-member team, known as the ‘FSTP Team’ (Financial Support to Third Party), will operate until September 2027. Three members have been selected as team leaders, and the facilitators will serve as mentors for the entire 15-month duration. The ASK Cox’s Bazar team will provide technical support, while ASK will provide the necessary financial assistance.

These tech-savvy members plan to promote their activities through digital platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram by creating short videos. Furthermore, they intend to publish e-books and journals featuring key milestones, case studies, and success stories.

On the closing day, Md. Al Imran, Camp-in-Charge of Camp-4 and Senior Assistant Secretary, attended the event, shared inspirational words, and officially concluded the workshop.

It is worth noting that on June 18, Tahmina Rahman visited the workshop to interact with the participants and facilitators. She provided valuable guidance to ensure the success of this creative initiative before formally inaugurating the 5-day program.
