School Theatre Group (BINAD) activities across Rajshahi, Habiganj and Tangail brought together 741 participants (216 male and 525 female) through workshops on drama production, issue-based drama performances and study sessions in August 2026. The activities included issue-based drama performances, assistance to BINAD (school theatre group) for organising day observation events, and study sessions focusing on child marriage, gender-based violence, child sexual exploitation, good and bad touch, legal rights and human rights. Through participatory discussions, theatre development and performances, BINAD members strengthened their confidence, communication, teamwork and ability to use drama as a tool for community awareness. Students also developed and rehearsed dramas reflecting real-life social issues and expressed interest in continuing regular performances and awareness sessions. The activities strengthened collaboration among students, schools, theatre groups and local stakeholders, while encouraging youth-led advocacy for safer and more rights-aware communities.

Association for Community Development (ACD) engaged 400 participants here through a theatre-based day observation event at Hamidpur Nowdapara High School in Rajshahi. The event promoted awareness of human rights, gender equality and social justice, while strengthening BINAD members’ confidence, communication and performance skills. Participants recommended organising regular theatre-based awareness programs with wider student and community participation.
These initiatives are being implemented the EngageNow project under the “Nagorikota: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF)” programme with support from the Embassy of Switzerland, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and European Union (EU).
