Community Legal Camps for Maizinalised Women

Under the Engage Now project, a total of 9 Community Legal Camps were organised by ACD (2) at Rajshahi, AVAS (2) at Barisal, SoDESH (3) at Satkhira and OWDEB (2) at Chattogram, reaching 365 participants, including 85 male and 280 female participants. The camps provided legal awareness, counseling, and referral services to community members. Participants received information on family law, violence against women, inheritance rights, land disputes, legal aid services and available protection mechanisms. The camps also created direct opportunities for community members to consult with legal practitioners and service providers. Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative and emphasised the need for regular legal awareness activities, increased legal aid support, and wider dissemination of available support services. These activities were implemented under the EngageNow project, part of the Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) programme, with support from the Embassy of Switzerland, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and the European Union (EU).
