Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) expresses its concern over the Israeli attack on Gaza that caused deaths and injuries of hundreds of Palestinians. ASK seriously condemns such massive bloodsheds.

In the name of disarming Palestinian organization Hamas, Israel started this attack on last 27 December. The newspaper sources reveal that till today 500 Palestinians are dead and about 2500 wounded.

Regrettably, despite worldwide protest against the attack, there is no sign to halt the attack, rather the aggressive speeches of Israeli President and Defense Minister and war neurotic attitudes of Hamas is creating the situation more complicated. Moreover, the open support of U.S. administration to Israeli attack and its abstinence to support the UN Security Council resolution on ceasefire is very loathsome.

We think, because of Israel’s persistence on not moving away from the occupied territory for such a long time, long time economic sanction on the Gaza and reluctance of the western world towards a peaceful and long lasting settlement of the Middle East crisis have acted behind the motivation for agitation by the Palestinians and the war neurotic attitudes of the Hamas.

We urge both the parties (Israel & Hamas) to stop the fighting immediately and find peaceful ways to settle the ongoing crisis. But we think that Israel, as more powerful and the aggressor must take the leading role.The world community and the UN must also come together to search for a peaceful and enduring settlement of the dispute.
