Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) has expressed deep concern over the violent clash at Chittagong University that left 2 students dead and around 40 injured.

According to different media reports, a clash took place between two student groups of Chittagong University on 8th February, 2012 where 2 students got killed, and around 40 including the proctor of the University were injured. The University authorities declared closure of the University till 16th February, 2012 to avoid further violence. It is to be reminded that, another student was killed in a student violence at Jahangirnagar University on 9th January this year.

We think that, recent reckless and violent acts of the student organizations of different universities of the country are hampering the academic environment of the Universities. We hope that, necessary actions would be taken to restore normal academic atmosphere along with security of the University campuses and at the same time necessary and exemplary actions would be taken against the culprits.
