7th National wall magazine festival organised in Dhaka from 20 to 22 of March’14 where more than 100 high schools and organizations were participated with 200 wall magazines. Students of high schools got an opportunity to write and expose their talents and creativity through the festival.
Each year students from high schools get an opportunity to write and present their talents and creativity through the festival. They wrote poems, stories, articles, drama, comics and drawn pictures on Liberation war of Bangladesh, History, Human rights, Gender, Science, Current affairs, Ethnic groups, Climate, Agriculture and Local scholars. Apart from the involvement of the writers this event involved a number of teachers, guardians, organizers, journalists and a huge number of readers in a learning process on the subjects mentioned above. Both the electronic and print media featured the festival with due importance which contributed in mass awareness on HR and Gender issues.
Advocate Sultana Kamal inaugurated the festival and Vashasaggrami Ahmad Rafique was the chief guest of the prize giving ceremony. Both sessions were presided by emeritus professor Serajul Islam Chowdhury.
Dr. Naseema Akhter Hossain, Chairperson of the Politics Department at JehangirnagarUniversity and Dr. Hameeda Hossain also present as guests.
Writer and journalist Mashiul Alam and novelist Zakir Talukder were resource person of the study session where they shared their experiences among editors of wall magazine and guide teachers.
The festival was organised by the Bangladesh Deyal Potrika Parishad lead by Professor Serajul Islam Chowdhury with the help of Human Rights Awareness Unit of Ain o Salish kendra(ASK). Many children, students, guardians and youths visited the festival each day.
