School Examination Question indicating women’s dress responsible for sexual harassment: ASK’s condemnation

Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) strongly condemns the issue of Holy Cross School’s examination question paper indicating women’s dress responsible for sexual harassment.

According to media reports, on 25 May 2015, a question paper of Islamic Studies (creative) in Holy Cross School suggested that women can avoid sexual harassment by wearing ’decent’ dress. It hints at women’s dress to be responsible for sexual harassment which is completely unexpected from a renowned and established educational institution like the Holy Cross School.

The Head of Holy Cross School has already apologized for this mistake. We want to remind that educational institutions play an important role to foster students’ thoughts and creative excellence. Therefore, it is extremely important to be utmost cautious in such occasions.
