The Police have arrested Ayesha Siddiqua Minni, the number one witness and wife of the deceased Rifat Sharif, over Barguna’s sensational Rifat Sharif murder case. Police reported that on 16 July 2019 at around 9 pm she was arrested following the interrogation as she seemed to be involved with Rifat murder. It is to be noted that it was immediately after Rifat’s father demanded her arrest over his son’s murder in a press conference and human chain that Ayesha was interrogated and later arrested.

Considering the sensitivity of the murder case, ASK urges the truth to be revealed through fair and neutral investigation. ASK believes that there is a need to be cautious so that local influential groups that are involved in this murder cannot get away with the arrest of Ayesha. Besides, ASK urges to ensure the highest sensitivity towards Ayesha during interrogation and also ensure that she does not face any kind of harassment.
