Police Recovered Bodies of Raped Mother and Three Children from Gazipur: ASK Demands Investigation to Ensure Legal Punishment of Perpetrator

The Police recovered throat-slit bodies of an expatriate’s wife and her three children from their house at Joina bazar in Sripur upazilla, Gazipur. While recovering the dead bodies, in the primary observation during its inquiry, Police found signs of rape. Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) urges to conduct immediate and fair investigation into the incident and ensure justice by bringing the accused under trial.

According to information collected from different news media reports, on Thursday night, 23 April 2020, this brutal incident took place. After the incident, , the expatriate’s father filed a case at Sripur Police Station on Thursday night.

ASK is expressing grave concern over the incident. These brutal killings have confounded all when everyone is apprehensive about the Corona virus pandemic. ASK has noticed with grave concern that even during this continuous lock-down, violence against women and children is still going on at different levels. The news of such violence is reported every day in the news media. ASK is expecting the law-enforcement agencies to play a prompt role in these incidents. ASK recognises that hese agencies are already playing a significant role in fighting against Corona virus. While being engaged in fighting Corona virus, ASK urges the law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant and take action against those involved in such brutal incidents.
