On 21 August, 2014, upon hearing news of the attack, looting and brutal vandalism of the century old temple of Sri Sri Kali located at Falda Bazar, in Vuapur Upazilla, Tangail, a human chain and a protest rally against communal violence was organised, under the banner “Bibekban Sachetan Nagarik Samaj” .
The demonstration included a spectrum of organizations, political leaders, Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity council were formed in front of the District Commissioner ‘s office urging for an immediate arrest and stern action against the criminals involved in the destruction of property and vandalism of homes of the complainant and witnesses.
Orators of the assembly alleged that attack on religious minorities across the country is continuing after 43 years of our liberation.
They demanded a police box to be set up in Falda Bazar as well as taking measures to uphold communal harmony.
Furthermore, a discussion was held with the District Commissioner, local chairman and superintendent of police.
The Partner organization RPDO of ASK in Tangail has participated in that event. A Deputy Director of Ain O Shalish Kendra Mr. Dilip paul, Executive Director of RPDO expressed their sentiments in the event, as a output of that discussion, a communal unity mass will be held on 28 August 2014 in premises of Kali Mondir, Falda in the presence of District Commissioner, Police superintendent, local MP and UP Chairman.
